Our Story
Meet Dominic – Founder of Melbourne Shoulder Rehab
“I’ve been on both sides of the rehab table.”
My Story
Close to a decade ago, I badly tore the labrum in my shoulder during a climbing accident. I went from pulling hard on rock to struggling to lift a kettle.
I saw first-hand how frustrating and confusing shoulder injuries can be—especially when you’re getting mixed messages, trying to avoid surgery, or you feel like progress has stalled.
That experience shaped everything I do now as a physio.
Since then, I’ve spent years working with shoulder injuries—alongside shoulder surgeons, in specialist clinics, and with people from all walks of life. From gymnasts and dancers to tradies and office workers, I’ve helped people get back to work, sport, and everyday life.
But I kept noticing the same problem: many people weren’t getting the guidance they actually needed to achieve the outcome they were chasing. Some were pushed toward surgery too soon. Others had surgery, but didn’t get the rehab required to make it a success. And plenty were told to “rest and wait,” without a clear plan or end point.
So here’s the uncomfortable question: if you didn’t get the outcome you wanted, was it “failed physio”… or did physio fail you?
That’s why I started Melbourne Shoulder Rehab.
Our philosophy is simple: accountable, outcome-based shoulder care—backed by science, guided by experience, and tailored to you.
If you feel like you’ve “failed physio” and you’re still dealing with persistent shoulder pain—whether it’s a cranky rotator cuff, frozen shoulder, instability, or post-op rehab—I’d like to offer you something different: step-by-step guidance with a outcome-driven strategy built around your goals and your life.
